“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6

Women are multi-taskers. Frequently, we are charged with being the cook, activity planner, household organizer, care giver, the after school chauffeur, the office manager, and the business owner, just to name a few of our titles. We can be so overwhelmed with these tasks, doubt about our direction and dreams can infiltrate our minds. Are we really where we need to be? Are we really achieving anything? However, every situation has a season. And the seasons of our lives shift. So as we experience a time of busy-ness, which may seem insignificant and tiring, clinging to a scripture is vital for peace, comfort, and reassurance.

Philippians 1:6 reminds us to be confident that the Lord will not leave us unfinished and inadequate .He has assigned a specific task for each one of us. Yes, He can find someone else for our job, but His desire is for us to be a completed vessel. Therefore, whatever God is calling us to do, be reassured it will happen. Every situation makes a contribution to our final result. So enjoy the journey. We might be surprised at what we learn on our faith walk to God’s divine assignment for our lives.

Additionally, as women we are called to do many tasks, professionally, and personally, but not at the same time. Unfortunately, we sometimes overwhelm ourselves. If we examine our daily tasks, it is possible we can eliminate some of them from our list, and add time with the Lord, quiet time, and time for ourselves. When God does shift us, we want to be physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually ready. So be calm. Be patient. Be reassured. We cannot frustrate ourselves because our desire is out of sync with God’s timing.

As God is shaping us into His vessels, we must also pay attention to what He is adding and subtracting from our lives. The good work He is doing requires pruning. Do not chase after what He has eliminated. And do not reject what He is adding. It is a necessary phase for us to serve Him with excellence and for our spiritual maturity.

So as we wait for our divine assignment, or as we strive to perform it with excellence, encourage another sister. We need to share some of our previous difficulties with someone who is struggling. Let us be cheerleaders for each other, and continually remind each other of Philippians 1:6,

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
